Elect Maria Gutzeit

THANKS to all the volunteers, donors, voters, and supporters.  We did a great campaign and, in a City where it typically takes 3 elections to win a seat, we earned some great name ID.  We played fair, no one had to mortgage their house, and we stayed friends.  'Catch you all next time....Like Tigger, we'll be bouncing back soon!  - Maria Gutzeit

Tigger

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tigger is a fictional tiger character originally introduced in A. A. Milne's book The House at Pooh Corner. He is easily recognized by his orange and black stripes, beady eyes, a long chin, a springy tail, and his bouncy personality. As he says himself, "Bouncing is what Tiggers do best." Like other Pooh characters, Tigger is based on one of Christopher Robin Milne's stuffed animals.

Maria is efficient and cost conscious.

  • At the Senior Center, she initiated strategic planning after a 5-year lapse, to focus on key senior needs.
  • At the Water District, she championed planning tied to budgets to save money while improving service.
  • She launched the City's Non-Motorized Plan to secure grant money and make biking and walking safer for our families.

As owner of the consulting firm Compliance Plus since 1994, Maria Gutzeit has worked with employers helping them comply with environmental regulations. Maria's husband Tom also is a Santa Clarita business owner.  Maria Gutzeit's family understands the value of hard work and good local jobs.

Los Angeles County Firefighters Endorse Maria Gutzeit

Paul M. Rusin, Director of Los Angeles County Firefighters Local 1014, representing the firefighters of 57 Cities and the County of Los Angeles, announced their endorsement of Maria Gutzeit for Santa Clarita City Council on March 20th.

"I am so honored to have been endorsed by our firefighters.  These men and women are our emergency responders.  From fighting fires, monitoring hazardous material safety, to being our first line of defense against terrorism, these people put their lives on the line to keep Santa Clarita safe."

"I have worked with these professionals in my career as an environmental engineer, dealing with public safety and hazardous materials.  Like many long-time residents, I have witnessed time and again their flawless handling of our local brush fires.  After having placed my trust in them, I am so pleased that they have entrusted me as their choice for Santa Clarita's City Council." - Maria

League of Conservation Voters Endorses Maria Gutzeit

" I am extremely happy to have earned the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorsement for this election.  To be recognized for my track record of bringing environmental concerns to the business community in a cost effective, common-sense way is very rewarding.  Business and environment are not mutually exclusive.  Together we can have a great economy, smart growth, business protection, and a quality community." - Maria
